FAQs
Q. Why did my shaft break?

A. There are two known factors causing throttle shafts to fail.  The most common is when the throttle stop at the pedal is deformed from over-exuberant use of the throttle and this allows the cable to try to pull the butterfly shaft past the stop on the throttle body which results in either the shaft or the bracket breaking from the stress.  The other reason is that at RPMs over 7000 the butterfly can rapidly flutter slightly causing metal fatigue which leads to breakage.

Q. Will the larger shaft impede or disrupt the airflow through the unit?

A.  No, the shaft is designed so that the cross-section when fully open is actually .5mm smaller than the stock shaft.

Q.  What is the turn-around time if I send in my unit for upgrading?

A.  At present our machinist is spending a lot of time at the track with some of our customers for whom we race-prepare cars so the turn-around is not the usual 1 to 2 weeks.  Currently an order for a unit in our next production run will be the best way to go.  That run will begin 10/15/09.
